Last month on a career blog, a reporter stated about TenderTidings.com, “It’s not that it’s not a good idea for some people, I just resent the marketing to working mothers that plays on the notion that they all feel guilty for working away from home.  In the words of the immortal Chandler Bing, ‘Could that be a bigger stereotype?’”

I was floored.  I didn’t make it through law school or work my way up in an investment bank to market TenderTidings.com as a product just for “moms” or just for “dads” or just for “single-parents” or just for “grandparents.”  Beyond a doubt, our child-rearing methods have changed over the years.  Our family structures have changed over the years.  Our career choices and options have changed over the years.  And TenderTidings.com was born from a belief that no one should feel guilty – not working moms – not working dads – not working grandparents.  It’s only natural to want to check in on your children during the day.  Not out of guilt but out of care and concern.

Soon after the article’s release, one of our valued customers replied, “As the husband of a woman who gave up a career to care for our daughter, and the proud father of a little girl who will grow up to someday be empowered enough to make this decision for herself, I see this from a different perspective.  As a customer of Tender Tidings, I’ve had great fun ‘dropping in’ to see my daughter instead of checking CNN when I have a spare moment.  Today, I just happened to catch the first time she used a fork.  It made my afternoon.  Irrespective of the potential ‘stereotypes,’ I don’t feel guilty for working.  That being said, the reality is I am gone all day.  This product/service makes it a little easier.”

Wow!  The Tender Tidings family is tight!  To Alan….Thank you and we are pleased beyond words that our service is providing you with memories you may not have otherwise had.  To everyone else, we sincerely hope to bring you the same experience.
